Review of KJ-52 CD "Icon"

I was recently given a copy of the cd "Icon" by KJ-52 from Family Christian for review. All thoughts and opinions are mine and I have not been compensated.
Icon is a compilation cd with 11 previously released songs.

KJ-52 got his name from his original stage name "King J Mac" the 52 in his name came from the Bible verse John 6:9 "There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?" KJ-52  has many nay sayers due to the fact he is white, a Christian, and a rapper Many say he is the Christian version of Eminim. My favorite 2 song on the cd are "Dear Slim and Dear Slim part 2". After his first song "Dear Slim" he started to receive hate mail and death threats for Eminim fans.  He is so down to earth. To me his target audience seems to be the youth of today because his music. He gets bashed by many for being a white rapper.  His music is fun and brings Christianity about in a way that connects with the teens of today. This was not the first time I have heard KJ-52, I have teenage boys and they absolutely love him. They jammed to the CD with me that is something that is so fun and it brings us together. There favorite song has to be the funniest comedy song on the cd which is "Gimme Dat" which is about his addiction to Mountain Dew. In my opinion I highly recommend this CD even if rap is not your thing you will love this CD, especially your kids will love it because he makes talking and God and Christianity fun.
